So last night I get home. Lisa and the boys are still downstate so I decide to go see a movie that she probably wouldn't be into. I see that Cloverfield is playing at 9:10 at our local cinema so I figure I'll go and and take it in [It was really good by the way...very post-modern...think Blair Witch meets Godzilla].
Anyway, I go to the ticket counter to buy my ticket and a remember that a family member of a church member works there. We exchange pleasantries and the I say, "one ticket for Cloverfield." She says, "just one?" To which I reply, "Yeah, just one. I used to be so cool and hang out with friends on Friday night and now here I am on Friday night going to a movie by myself. Just one." She laughed, gave me a ticket, and I sat in a theater full of giggly high-school kids scared out of their wits.
It made me miss Lisa and the boys even more.
P.S. More on Cloverfield later...
